Each year we participate with the Salvation Army Angel Tree as part of our community service. This year there are over one thousand (1,000) children in need. Out of those children only 278 children have been adopted. If you would like to adopt an angel, volunteer or know someone who would like to partner with the Salvation Army please call us in the office (205) 425-5235. This is a great need in our community and your help will make ALL the difference to a family this holiday season!

Many have called inquiring about the annual Mabel L. Chambers Backpack Giveaway. We decided last year that we would donate the backpacks directly to local schools in Bessemer to assist with the needs of our community. The family and staff of Chambers Funeral Home donated to West Hills Elementary, Hard Elementary, Jonesboro Elementary, Abrams’ Elementary, and Bessemer City Middle School. If your child or anyone you know is in need of a backpack, they can speak directly with the counselors.
It was an honor to provide lunch to the teachers at Jonesboro Elementary. We appreciate all of our awesome leaders and teachers who prepare the next generation and those after to make a difference in the world.

It was a pleasure to provide lunch for the teachers and staff of J.S. Abrams Middle School in honor of Teacher Appreciation Week! We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge their dedication and support to our youth. It takes a village, and they are definitely an integral part of our community.
In honor of Dr. Seuss' National Read Across America Day, our very own Ms. Tayler Pringle was invited to read at Glen Oaks Elementary School. It was her distinct pleasure to read to Mrs. Johnson's fourth grade class.
