Willie Cook

Willie Ross Cook was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Elliot Ross (Lorraine Mack) on March 6, 1925 in green County, Alabama. He was the middle child of three sons. Willie was educated in the Forkland Alabama Public School System. He worked for the City Ice Company for 20 years, and then went on to work for AmSouth Bank where he retired from after 25 plus years. At an early age he confessed Christ and joined Zion Baptist Church in Forkland, AL. After moving to Birmingham he joined Forty Sixth Street Baptist Church in Birmingham, AL. He later joined Shady Grove Baptist Church. In 1944 he was united in Holy Matrimony to Verna Mae Washington, and they shared 66 wonderful years together. Together they had two sons Elliot and John. Many were left to celebrate his life and cherish his memory.
