Elder Wayne A. Lett was born June 28, 1956 to Mr. Charlie E. Lett Sr. and Ms. Bertha M. Core. He transitioned into his heavenly reward on Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Wayne was a graduate of Jones Valley High School class of 1974. He continued his education and graduated from Herzing Institute majoring in data processing. He attended Lawson State Community where he studied AC repair. He also attended UAB and majored in computer technology. Wayne worked as a Data Processor at the Women’s Missionary Union several years. He also worked as a transit driver for MAXX for the city of Birmingham for 28 years until he retired. On April 11, 1974, Wayne was baptized in the name of Jesus and filled with the gift of the Holy Ghost at Faith Apostolic Church. He answered the call the ministry and served as President of the usher board for the Southern Tri-State Council, President of the FAC Brotherhood, audio visual sound technician, and a member of the FAC choir. He was elevated in the ministry at Faith Apostolic to an Elder and served faithfully until the Lord led him to assist in the ministry at Greater Grace Community Church under the leadership of Pastor Charles Lett Jr. At Greater Grace, he served as assistant Pastor, Sunday School Superintendent, Monday night prayer leader, and church administrator. On April 5, 1980, he married the love of his life Anita L. Cain. They were happily married for 36 years. He was affectionately known as Uncle Wayne. He never met a stranger and had an impact on everyone he met. He loved helping others and working on construction projects led by David King. He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife Anita, his mother Bertha Core, his father Charles (Zholia) Lett Sr., one brother Charles (Bernette) Lett Jr., two sisters Deborah (Jimmie) Johnson, and Aleasha Reese of Charlotte, NC., and a host of other aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
