Walter Dancy

Mr. Walter Mitchell Dancy, Sr. was born March 27, 1939 to Mr. and Mrs. William (Lena) Mac Royster. He was educated in the Bessemer Public School System.
He confessed hope in Christ at an early age and was Baptized at St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church, Bessemer, AL. He later moved his membership and united with Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church. He was employed with Baptist Medical Center Montclair, until he retired. He was a quiet person, that always had time to serve others.
Walter was united in holy matrimony to Doris A. Dancy to this union one son was conceived and was blessed to blend into the loving family of two sons and three daughters.
Mr. Dancy was preceded in death by: father, William Royster; mother, Lena Mae Royster; son, Marcus Dancy, Sr.
He departed this life on January 14, 2019 at his home surrounded by loved ones.

Dancy, Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, Marquise T. Dancy, Amish Lanien, AL, Brandon R. Dancy, Jr., Anqasia Johnson, Carlos Stallworth all of Bessemer, AL; aunt-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth L. Thomas, Bessemer, AL; brothers-in-law, Ray A. (Sherrie) Sullivan, Angela A. Sullivan, Joseph Owens, all of Bessemer, AL; uncle-in-law, Mr. Morris Brown of Bessemer, AL; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
