Vincent "Tate" Carl Hughes was born on April 13, 1964, to
Bessie Lee White and Levester Hughes in Birmingham, Alabama.
He received his formal education in the Midfield City School
system. Vincent was a car coliseum repair and painting
specialist and was known for his elaborate car painting skills.
Vincent Hughes departed this life on Monday, February 5, 2024.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Bessie Lee White;
father, Levester Hughes and sister, Tonya Hughes Riley.
He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Bernetta Minter
of Bessemer, AL; son, James Kenyon, Sr. (Rashundra) Minter;
daughter, Jasmine Minter, both of Bessemer, AL; grandchildren,
Jacorian, Trinity, Keyondra, James, Jr., Jashaun, Jr., Joshaunna,
Ja'Shawn, Ja'Shaad, and Ja'Shaunna; brothers, James Earl, Sr.
(Rose) Trammell of St. Louis, MO, Johnnie Trammell, Sr. of
Birmingham, AL, Willie Riley of McCalla, AL, Bernard and Clinton
Minter of Bessemer, AL; sisters, Elwonza White of Midfield, AL,
Josephine (Elmer) Kibler of Upper Marlboro, MD, Bettye (James)
Knox of Bessemer, AL, Gwendolyn Green of Pleasant Grove, AL,
Janetta Starks of Brighton, AL, Brigsta Minter of Bessemer, AL;
one aunt, Delnora Bell of Tuskegee, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews,
relatives and friends.
