Ms. Verlaiter Law Wilkerson was born on July 11, 1948, to the late Lonnie and Nannie B. Woods Law in Fairfield, Alabama. She was the sixth of seven children.
At an early age, she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church.
Verlaiter began her education at Roosevelt Elementary School, a graduate of Wenonah High School and Alabama A & M College in Huntsville, Alabama.
She was a longtime resident of the Roosevelt City Community.
On Monday, August 15, 2022, she made her transition from life to eternity at her birth home, surrounded by her loving family.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Erika Monique Law; brother, Lonnie Law, III; nephew, Raymond Bernard Law; nieces, Faida Law Warren and Nissa Law Williams.
Verlaiter enjoyed shopping and watching “Perry Mason”.
Verlaiter’s love and compassion for her family members and joyous memories will be missed by her sisters, Rosalyn Law Heard of Atlanta, GA, Lavaiter Law of Fairfield, AL and Wilhemina Law of Birmingham, AL; her brothers, Joseph (Paulette) Law of Anchorage, AK and Lorenza Law of Birmingham, AL.
Remembering the legacy of her unconditional love are nieces, Tanja Hogancamp of Detroit, MI, Dana Law, Ph.D. of Huntsville, AL, Lanise Law of Hawaii, Hailee Williams of Hawaii, Christian Watkins of Hueytown, AL and Faith Watkins of Hueytown, Alabama; nephews, Darryl (Jasmine) Law of Midfield, AL, Deon (Nikki) Savage of Las Vegas, NV, Christopher Williams and Anthony Williams, II both of Springville, AL, Ahmad Heard of Atlanta, GA and Anwar (Toyeka) Heard of College Park, GA; special great nephews, Corey Sebastian Law and Rashard Rodgers. Also, she is survived by extended family and friends.
