Venessia F. Wagstaff, also known as "Ham", was born to the late Mr. & Mrs. Henry Wagstaff on September 28, 1957. Venessia confessed hope in Christ at an early age and attended Carver Baptist Church. Venessia received her educational training in the Bessemer School System. She graduated from Abrams High School in 1975. Venessia was a diligent worker. She worked at Data Preparations for over 20 years. She also worked at Bessemer Utilities for the past 4 years. More than anything Venessia loved being a mother. She was blessed with two beautiful daughters, VanTarsha M. Clarke and Ashlea M. Pettigrew. Being a nurturer she worked with the Seraaj House and became a foster parent for over 10 years. On May 4, 2013 the Lord was in need of another angel and Venessia was called to rest. She was preceded in death by her father, Henry Wagstaff; her brother, Sam Jones, Jr. and her mother Eva Lee Wagstaff. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: Two loving daughters, VanTarsha (Morris) Clarke and Ashlea M. Pettigrew; four brothers, Jody (Trina) Wagstaff, Christopher Wagstaff, Darren Wagstaff and Theatis (Marie) Bell; two sisters, Betty (Cornelius) Harris and Dorothy (Wayne) Pippen; three grandchildren, Jordyn Wilson, Jada Wilson and GeMorris Clarke and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends.
