Thelma S. Wesley

Thelma Smiley Wesley was born on February 23, 1939. to George W. and Jennie Mae Smiley. She lived a long and fulfilling life before passing away December 16, 2024.

After graduating from Meharry Medical College, Thelma married the love of her life and beloved husband, Joseph Wesley, Jr., in 1959.

Thelma worked as a Registerd Principal Dental Hygienist for 25 years until she retired in 1994. She spent her retirement years enjoying her grandchildren, gardening, working on various projects, and keeping fit through Silver Sneakers.

Thelma was predeceased by her parents, sisters, Erma Smiley and Trycennia Mallory, and brother, George W. Smiley, Jr.

She is survived by her husband, children, Anthony (Rhonda)Wesley, Sr., and Felicia (John)Minley; sisters, Bobbie Adams, Odessa Oliver, and Dian Gray; and grandchildren, Anthony (Lillian) Wesley, Jr., Brandon Wesley, and Daniel Minley; and numerous cousins, nephews, and nieces.
