Stevens Bryon Hicks was born October 29, 1965 in Bessemer, Alabama to Charles Nathaniel and the late Ruby Miller Hicks. Stevens was called home for eternal rest on Sunday, August 31, 2014. Stevens was raised in Bessemer, Alabama and Fairfield, Alabama. He confessed Christ at an early age and was baptized at Ward Chapel A.M.E. Church, under Rev. S.D. Parker. Stevens attended St. Francis of Assissi School. McAdory High School and was a graduate of Fairfield High School class of 1983. Stevens attended Jacksonville State University and Alabama State University. He received a Nursing Degree at Bessemer State Technical College and joined the U.S. Air Force as a Military Policeman and Dog Handler. Stevens was employed with Cliffs Oakgrove Coal Mine. On December 15, 2013, Stevens was united in holy matrimony to LilKenya Colbert Hicks. Stevens was preceded in death by his mother, Ruby Miller Hicks and his brother, Michael Cornelius Hicks, Sr. He was president of the Wheels of Soul Motorcycle Club of Alabama. He was a Alabama Fan and an even bigger Pittsburgh Steeler Fan. Stevens leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife, LilKenya Colbert Hicks; five children, Khalil, Birmingham, AL. Tyler, New York, NY, Jeremy, Peydon and Kenneth all of Fairfield, AL and Stevens, Jr. of Birmingham, AL; father, Charles Nathaniel Hicks, Sr. of Fairfield, AL; three sisters, Darlyn Hicks Vance of Fairfield, AL, Beneita Hicks- Walton of Bessemer and Wanda Hicks-Edwards of Birmingham, AL; two brothers, Charles N. Hicks, Jr. of Dallas, TX and Nathan Hicks of Birmingham, AL; grandmother-in-law, Helen Chaney of Fairfield, AL; sister-in-law, Teresa B. Hicks of Pleasant Grove, AL and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Stevens will be truly and forever missed.
