Sharon Denise Hall-Ratchford, a woman of morals, integrity and strong character, who was known for her infectious smile and loving spirit that encouraged others. Sharon was born February 2, 1971, in Birmingham, Alabama to Curtis Lee Cole and Juanita Hall, in Birmingham, Alabama. She made her transition on Thursday, January 9, 2014, at Brookwood Medical Center, Birmingham, AL. She is preceded in death by her sister Michelle E.Redrick-Freeman. Sharon accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Rev O.V. Mosley, Zion Hill Missionary Baptist Church. She enjoyed participating in the activities at church; she was a girl scout and participated in church plays. Sharon was a graduate of Jesse Lanier High School, Class of 1990. Although physically challenged, she lived on the campus of the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She graduated in 1995 with a Bachelors of Science in Business with a Minor in Computer Information Systems. She received several letters of recognition from the Department of Education Division Rehabilitation Services for her successes in overcoming the challenges she was faced with. She was employed with the Social Security Administration in Birmingham, AL for 18 years as a Tel Service Representative. On May 1, 1997 she followed her heart and married Anthony Ratchford, to this union a son was born, Christian Ratchford. She leaves to cherish her memories: husband Anthony Ratchford; son, Christian Ratchford; mother, Juanita Redrick; four brothers, Curtis Cole, Jr (Richette), South Carolina, Marion Amos, Birmingham, AL; Matthew Cole, Birmingham, AL and Leviticus Cole, El Paso, TX; two sisters,Stacy Cole Walker, Atlanta, GA and Jeanetta Cole, Birmingham, AL; very special nephew, Radjesh Sedarius Dill, Jr, Bessemer, AL; four uncles, three aunts, all of Boston, MA, and a host of relatives, coworkers and friends.
