On Monday, August 2, 2010 at 6:28 A.M., Brother Samuel Lee Peterson ended his journey in the comfort of his home surrounded by his family. His new life with our Heavenly Father began when he peacefully took his hand and became one of his heavenly angels. His journey was filled with joyful times and plenty of laughter. He had a great sense of humor and loved all his family and friends. Those memories will last for years to come. Samuel Lee Peterson was born March 24, 1942 to the union of the late Spencer and Jessie Pearl Peterson in Boothton, Alabama. He later confessed hope in Christ at an early age and joined First Baptist Church, Ninth Street under the pastorate of the late Reverend F. D. King. Brother Peterson maintained his membership there until death. It was a joyful occasion when he was united in holy matrimony to Ever George on August 11, 1964. Together they were blessed to parent three children and share a love that comes only once in a lifetime. Brother Peterson was preceded in death by: his parents, Spencer and Jessie Pearl Peterson; daughter, Cynthia Allen; sisters, Clara Mae Johnson, Deloris Peterson and brother, John Peterson. They await him hand in hand in this celebration.
