Ruth Baltimore Johnson lived a life of purpose. She was an inspirational woman of strength, intelligence and above all a woman of God. There was no problem or situation she could not overcome. Ruth was born in Jefferson County, October 30, 1926 to the late Will and Ira Baltimore. Ruth confessed hope in Christ and joined Mt. Hebron Baptist Church (Burstall). She entered the battlefield and remained there until Jesus called her home. Ruth was united in wedlock to the late Shed Johnson, Jr. in 1946. To this union six children were born. She always pointed her children in the right direction. In 1950 Ruth came to Raimund with her husband and united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the Pastorate of Rev. L.C. Walker. She served faithfully for many years as Sunday School Teacher, Choir Member, Deaconess Board and Missionary Society. She also served as Matrons Counselor of Jefferson County District until her health began to fail. Ruth was preceded in death by: son, James Leon Johnson; brother, Fred Baltimore and sister, Dorothy B. Henderson.
