Roxanna Crear

Mrs. Roxanna Richardson Crear, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Hunter and Virginia Richardson, was born August 5, 1930 in Choctaw Bluff, Alabama. Her family were farmers and she often talked about her life on the farm. She loved horse back riding, working in the fields along side her father and brothers, raising her own chickens, and canning her own vegetables.
She was married to the late Mr. Wilbur John Crear, Sr. They made their home in Roosevelt, Jefferson Co., Alabama.
Roxanna was a member of Bethel A.M.E. Zion Church, where she served diligently as a member of the Pastor’s Aide Board, Board of Stewards, Missionary, Deaconess, and the Senior Choir. Roxanna loved her church and made sure all of her children and grandchildren were given the opportunity to know the love of God, in fact if you didn't go to church you couldn't go any where else.
Roxanna, was called by many names; “Mudear, Granny Rock Rock, Grandma, Rock, Auntie, Foxy Roxie” to name a few, and she answered to them all. She enjoyed sewing, quilting (all of us got one), crocheting, fishing, reading, and gardening, when she was up and about we always had a garden in the back yard. She was a member of LeJeune Femmes Social and Saving Club, the Community Quilting Bee, and the Blocton Avenue Block Club.
Roxanna was preceded in death by all of her siblings; Robert, Mosella, Matillda, Hubbard, Daisy, Sally, and Lucy; two grandsons; Victor and Demetrious; one great grandson; ViJay; one son-in-law, Ray Anthony; one grand son-in-law, Jared.
She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children; Virginia (George) Patricia (Bobby) Wilbur, (Pamela) Frances, Marilyn (Howard), and Roderick. Grandchildren; Monica, Vincent, Allisha, Melody, LaStandley, Amber (Torey), Anthony, Jeremy (Tempestt), Clifton (Kawana), Camellia, Brandon, Jenecia, Shandale, Alondra, and Kessler; twenty-eight great grandchildren; seven great-great grandchildren; loving cousins, Rainey and Virginia; a host of wonderful nieces, nephews and friends.
