Brother Reginald Duwayne McArthur’s amazing life came to a peaceful conclusion on April 19, 2018.  He was the second child of four born to the late Daniel McArthur and Beatrice Brown McArthur on September 25, 1954.  Reginald fondly known as “Reggie” was educated in the Fairfield School System and later received an Associate’s Degree from Lawson State Community College.
At an early age, Reginald received Christ. He later joined New Mount Moriah Baptist Church, Hueytown, Alabama and was baptized on August 10, 2003. He served as President of the Male Chrous for many years and was a member of the Sanctuary Choir.
Reginald’s professional career expanded beyond three decades as the lead singer of the group “The Controllers” and they were well known locally, nationally and internationally. The group had a bond as brothers and was composed of: brother, Larry McArthur and cousins, Leonard Brown and Ricky Lewis. The Controllers had 18 Billboard charted records and five gold records. Their accomplishments during their career: five Soul Train Awards, five HBO appearances, 5 MTV appearances and Cinemax. The Controllers sold out Radio City Music Hall performing two shows a night.
Reginald was united in holy matrimony to Sally Kaye Grayson on July 26, 1981.
He leaves to cherish his memories: a loving and devoted wife of 36 years, Sally Kaye McArthur; brother, Larry (Crenessia) McArthur; sisters, Ivy McArthur, Wanda McArthur and Regina Smart; nieces, Melonie Peppins, LaSha’ McArthur, Kristen McArthur and Brittney Henderson; nephew, Brandon McArthur; a host of loving aunts, uncles, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, other relatives and friends.
