~Obituary~ ”I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.” 11 Timothy 4:7 Patricia Yvonne Young was born March 28, 1943 to the late John and Bernice Young. She was the first of three children. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John W. Young and a newphew, Shawn Hogg. Patricia was a product of the Jefferson County School System graudating from Wenonah High School. She attended Miles College and graduated with a Bachelor of Art degree. She matriculated to Cleveland, Ohio where she completed her Master of Education Degree while teaching elementary school for the Cleveland Board of Education. Patricia received an Honorary Ph.D. Degree from Faith College. She returned to Alabama and became an entrepreneur investing in a PIP franchise in Bessemer, Alabama where she later retired. Sis. Young accepted Christ at an early age and joined Beulah Baptist Church in Margaret, AL. In 1965, she joined St. James AMEC, Cleveland, OH. When she returned to Alabama, she joined Allen Temple AMEC under the pastorate of Rev. J. C. Faulk, where she served as a member of the Board of Stewards, the Senior Choir for 35 years, Sunday School, and Art Director of VBS. She transitioned to be with the Lord on August 15, 2016. Left to cherish her sweet memories are: Her God sister Bettye Foreman, sister Sylvia Denise Young (Lesleigh) Hogg; 3 Nephews, Erin (Nefertiti) Hogg, Bryan Patrick (Aja) Hogg, Jon Christopher (Jacqueline) Hogg; 1 niece, Shana Hogg, 9 grand-nieces, Ayana Hogg, Briana Hogg, Tianna Hogg, Jazmin Hogg, Oshyn Hogg, Nia Hogg, Alejandra Hogg, Miranda Hogg, Mattison Hogg, and Hunter Hogg;; 4 grand-nephews, Jayden Hogg, Jordan Hogg, Shawn Hogg, and Chase Hogg;; and a host of family and friends..
