Ola Mae Moss was born December 26, 1941 in Epes, Alabama to the late Jimmie & Mary Thomas, Sr. and was the seventh child of nine children. She confessed Christ at an early age and remained a faithful member of Friendship Baptist Church in Brighton, Alabama until her recent illness. Ola was employed with Jefferson County and Birmingham City Schools for 34 years where she impacted the lives of many children within the school system. She was always known for her sweet, pleasant and fun-loving spirit. Every day was another opportunity to live her life to the fullest extent through simple pleasures; spending time with family and friends, traveling, dancing and the simple act of making others feel loved. Ola Mae had a very special relationship and friendship with all her nieces and nephews.
Ola was preceded in death by: beloved spouse, David L. Moss, Sr.; siblings, Nellie Austin, Esther Wright and W.J. Thomas.
She leaves to cherish her memories: sons, Matthew (Irene) Stewart and Michael (Norma) Stewart, Sr.; grandchildren, Tameka (Luther) Young, Michael Stewart, Jr. and Christopher Stewart; special great grandchildren, Kylee Young and Michael Stewart, III; siblings, Amy Madison, Jimmie (Teresa) Thomas, Louvenia (Cleveland) Williams, Arthur (Trumender) Thomas and Claudine (Willie) Steele; sister-in-law, Ruthie Thomas; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
