Nathaniel Threats

Deacon Nathaniel W. Threats, Jr. was born to the late Nathaniel Threats, Sr. and Mrs. Lillie Threats Jones on September 14, 1957 in Fairfield, Alabama. Nathaniel accepted Christ at an early age at Thompson Chapel Methodist Church in Fairfield, Alabama. Later in life he joined New Bethlehem Baptist Church and was baptized under William H. Walker, Sr. Nathaniel was a faithful member and served in several capacities in the church: faithful deacon, Number Two Usher Board, Evangelistic, Red Cross Volunteer, Brotherhood, Disaster Relief, Caring Women and Men, Inc. and a contractor for the church for all maintenance repairs. In whatever capacity he was needed he would fill in; sometimes teaching Sunday School occasionally.
Nathaniel was educated in the Fairfield School System but was a graduate of Fox Lane High School in Bedford Hill, New York. He would go on to attend the University of Alabama in Birmingham, Alabama. Nathaniel would go on to be the first black fireman at Vestavia Hills Fire Department where he worked as apparatus operator. After 29 years of dedicated service Nathaniel retired in January 2018.
