Morris James Wilson was born December 3, 1928 to Lillian Wilson. Morris grew up in the Leeds Alabama community. He confessed in Christ at a young age and united with the First Baptist Church in Leeds. Upon moving to Bessemer, Morris joined First Baptist Church Ninth Street under the leadership of Reverend F. D. King.
Morris was a courageous and brave gentleman. He joined the U. S. Army and served our country faithfully. After receiving an honorable discharge; Morris was hired by U.S. Steele where he retired after working 40 years.
Morris was preceded in death by his wife, Iola Wilson; sons, Roland Wilson & Eddie Thomas; daughter, Verronda Ray and Sisters, Louise Wilson & Mary Moore.
He leaves to cherish his memories a loving wife, Lillian Wilson; sister, Luvenia Hall; children: Ronald Wilson, Morris Wilson Jr., Verlinda (Eddie) Wells, Portia Strode, Sheryl Perkins-Henson, Georgette (Julius) Alexander, Sheena (Ardrae) Jackson, Grenville Robinson; Daughter-in-law, Glenda Wilson & Son-in-law, Clarence Ray and a host of grand, great grand-children; nieces, nephews and friends.
