OBITUARY
Marsha Lanette Beckett was exalted to rest and peace on her 60 th birthday on April 2, 2019, with her family by her side.
She was born to parents Robert Jackson Sr. and Maggie Brown. She accepted Christ and was baptized at 12 years old at Saint Peters Primitive Baptist Church in 1971. Marsha graduated from Jess Lanier High School in 1977 and received an Associate’s degree from Lawson State College in Accounting.
She then embarked on a successful career in the United States Navy in 1979 where she met her first loving husband of 13 years and father of her three children, Michael Sanders. She later married the love of her life, the late Daryl Beckett in 1991. They traveled the world together and became business partners before retiring in Chesapeake Virginia.
Marsha excelled as a financial tax advisor, accountant and then successful entrepreneur opening her own business, Copies Packing and Shipping in Norfolk, VA. She especially loved traveling, decorating and going on vacations with her grandchildren. She dedicated her lifetime to the adage "living between the dash" by making each day count and living life to her fullest potential.
Marsha is survived by two children: April and Asia Sanders, of Bessemer, AL; three grandchildren, Sy’eem Sanders, Charlotte, NC, Ny’siah Richardson and Isis Sanders; seven brothers and sisters, John Brown of Bessemer AL, Robert Jackson, Jr., Doris McSwain, Leroy Jackson and Annie Jones of Fairfield, AL, Diann Brooks, Orlando, FL, and Charles Jackson, Deltona, FL; best friend & niece, Rosemary Lewis of Bessemer, AL; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Marsha was predeceased by: her loving husband, Daryl Beckett; son, Michael Sanders Jr.; mother, Maggie Jackson; sister, Mary Martin and brothers, Samuel, William, Mark, Nathaniel and Joseph Jackson.
