Life Reflections
Joy filled the hearts of Wade and Nora Lamar when their first child Marla Renee’ Lamar was born on November 24 th , 1954 in Birmingham, AL. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age and later joined Our Lady Queen of the Universe Catholic Church. Marla was a proud product of Holy Family Catholic Schools. She later earned her Bachelor of Science Degree from Troy University.
She fell in love and married Jerry J. Leonard on March 26, 1983. She had two loving children, Markia Anderson and Jerry Leonard Jr.
She was employed in healthcare for many years with Ketona Nursing Home and Cooper Green Mercy Hospital.
In God’s wise providence, her long battle with heart disease was ended when she was called to rest on March 22, 2018.
She leaves to cherish her memories: husband, Jerry J. Leonard; daughter, Markia (Alan) Anderson and Jerry Leonard Jr.; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Lamar, Aston Gregory Anderson, Aiden Anderson, and Jerimiah Leonard; sisters, Emma Yvette (Bruce) Waters and Sherita (Durece) Etheridge; two nephews, Bruce Waters Jr. and Dylan Wade Etheridge; one niece, Madison Renee’ Etheridge; three very special aunts, Malinda Yelder, Mrs. Viola Hughes, Mrs. Louise Jackson, Mrs., and a host of relatives and friends.
