Marcus LaWon Hartsfield was born on May 18, 1985 in Birmingham, AL. to LaGale Hartsfield Felton and John E. Jackson. On January 19, 2018 while at Brookwood Baptist Hospital surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly, God called our angel to his Heavenly home.
He accepted Christ at an early age under the leadership of Reverend William E. Scott at Macedonia Baptist Church in Bessemer, AL where he remained a member. He attended Bessemer City Schools. He worked at Witherspoon Custom Glass in Bessemer, AL.
He was preceded in death by: grandparents, Dorothy and Earnest Hartsfield; grandfathers, James Minter and James Jackson; aunt, Earnestine Hartsfield Abraham; uncles, Michael Henderson and James Jackson, Jr.; cousin, Anqunetta Horn.
He leaves to cherish his loving memories: mother, LaGale Hartsfield Felton (Joe); loving and devoted father, John E. Jackson (Loretta); three children, Marcus L. Hartsfield Jr., Marquis Hartsfield and Martez Hartsfield; grandmother, Melonee Minter; sisters, Jaquetta H. Broom (Eugene), Jessica Hartsfield, Roleisha Deramus and Johnecia Jackson; stepmother, Shirly Dobbins; great aunt, Barbara Bruce; aunts, Brenda Saahir, Sharon Jeff, Patricia Horn and Barbara Wilson; uncles, Miles Hartsfield and Milton Hartsfield; nieces, Kayin Broom and Keniya Broom; special cousins, Latoya Hartsfield, Johnita Terrell, Brandon Ellington and David Horn; special friend, Jamall Witherspoon; and a host of other cousins and friends.
