Macknolia Young Jr., was born November 15, 1948 in Fairfield, Alabama to the late Macknolia and Ramona Young Sr.
At an early age he confessed Christ as his Savior and joined First Baptist Church Brighton in Brighton, Alabama. Macknolia graduated from Brighton High School in 1966 and attended the historically black liberal arts college, Knoxville College in 1967. Later he joined the United State Airforce and served during the Vietnam War. He was a Sergeant and airplane mechanic. Macknolia served his country from 1968-1972. He was an airplane mechanic for Hayes Aircraft in Birmingham, Alabama for several years. Later he was employed with Griffin Wheel Company in Bessemer, Alabama and retired after 26 years.
In 1973 Macknolia married his true love Juanita Deramus. They were blessed with three children: Jacqueline Michelle, Mack Jarvis and Marlon Jamar. Macknolia was an advent reader; he would always emphasis the importance of being able read and master the Sudoku puzzle. He loved to garden, watch football, talk about politics, fish, and play golf.
He was preceded in death by his parents Macknolia and Ramona Young Sr., sister Deatrice Young, nephew Keith Elijah Young, and his son Mack Jarvis Young. Macknolia leaves to cherish his memories and love to his loving wife Juanita Young; his daughter Jacqueline Young and son Marlon Young, his grandsons Marcus Jordan Young and Samuel Mackenzie Young, granddaughter Charisse Noelle Bozeman, a great-grandson August Noel Vincent, devoted brother Elijah (Patsy) Young, his loving sisters Lillie (Charles) Walker and Valada Young, a Sister-In-Law Hazel Virdell, a Daughter-In-Law Samantha B. Young, three Brother-In-Laws; Stanley DeRamus, Glenn DeRamus, and Jimmy DeRamus, four nephews; Brandon Young, JaMichael Young, Alford Virdell, and DJ Young, four nieces; Katrina Young, Majeeda Young, Keya Tillie, LaToya DeRamus, and a host of other family members and close friends.
