Mabel Laverne Snyder Chambers was the matriarch of the Chambers Family. She was born in Hartselle and later relocated to Bessemer, Alabama. She became inspired to seek the utmost of what God had in store for her life. She was converted and joined the Allen Temple A.M.E. Church, Bessemer, Alabama under the pastorate of the late Reverend J. C. Bonner. She was a faithful and ardent worker of Allen Temple for over 60 years and lived at all times in keeping with the high standards set by her master. She was united in marriage to the late Augustus Charles Chambers, Sr. Their marriage exemplified an infinite love that stood the test of time. Two children were born to this union: Augusta Ellen Chambers Williams and Augustus Charles Chambers, Jr. After retirement, Mabel worked part time at Chambers Funeral Home, Inc. A business that is now operating successfully by the fourth generation. She was devoted to education, the family business and service. Her two children, Augusta E. Williams and A.C. Chambers, Jr. preceded her in death, along with her husband of 26 years; A.C. Chambers, Sr. Mabel Snyder Chambers transitioned this life on December 1, 2010. Survivors include: Grandchildren, Augusta D. Chambers, Augustus C. (Tracy) Chambers, III; Roderick Lewis, Yolanda (Timothy) Harris, DicQues' (Bennie) Seltzer, Bryonda Williams, Courtney (Matthew) Hamilton; great grandchildren: Erinne J. Chambers, Augustus C. Chambers, IV, Keni Herd, Monicia Richardson and Travion Richardson, Diamond Seltzer, Bennie Seltzer, III, Rickney B. Hunter, Courtney Bria-Brielle Hunter, Brandon Warren, Tyson Harris and Roderick B. Farrior; cousin, Theodore (Daisy) Orr of Detroit, MI; very special friends, Mrs. Jesse Studimire and Mrs. Annie Ruggs; caretakers, Lyda Boggs and Francis Gray.
