Louise Pendleton Larry was born on November 18, 1939 in Beloit, Alabama, to the late Sam Sr. and Corine Levins Pendleton. She accepted Jesus Christ and was baptized at First Baptist Ninth Street under the leadership of the late Reverend F. D. King. Like a mother figure, she cared for and helped raise her younger siblings and often led with an iron fist.
As a Dunbarite, Pendleton was educated in the Bessemer School System and graduated from Dunbar High School “Class of 1958.” Louise’s love for people led to a respective 35-year career in nursing. When Ms. Larry spoke, the community took note! As a Pillar in the community, her mission was to protect people and animals from harm and mistreatment.
Everyone that came in contact with her experienced someone who was a great counselor, listener, go-to person for moral support and very generous to her family, friends, and neighbors. She showed wit and wisdom that would leave you in stitches! She had a zest for life, a strong belief in the word of God, testified about her Faith and the power of prayer. May God’s eternal love shower her in eternity.
