Lou Jessie Ward was born October 3, 1928 to Bertha and Ed Ward who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by siblings Willie Earl, Ed, Jr. and Leonard. Her son, Richard E. Clark, and grandchildren, Amanda and Richard E. Townsend. She demonstrated her love for God when she accepted Christ at an early age and joined the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church and later the Blessed Assembly Fresh Fire Worship Center under the leadership of Bishop Rochelle Hudson, where she served on the Hospitality Committee, usher board, and was president of the Women's Fellowship. She loved her church and serve faithfully until her health failed. Lou Jessie attended public schools in the Sloss School-System of Bessemer, Alabama. She loved life, cooking, and caring for others. The Lord called her home for eternal rest on Monday, November 3, 2014. She leaves to cherish her memory; children: Elizabeth Johnson, Robert (Gwendolyn) Ward, Deloris (Robert) Boyd, Anthony (Sachiko) Ward, and Douglas Ward Sr; siblings: Evelyn Nelson, Frank Ward, Jerome Ward, and Clifford Ward; grandchildren: Tiffany (Rodney), Yolanda (Rd), William (Sherita), Cedrick, Sr., Robert, Jr., Faith, Eric, Sherita (Maurice), RaJares, Dwight (Rodrelle), Alicia, Douglas, Jr., Renesha (Antonio), Sean Douglas, Dustin, Angel, Princess, and Riccatherine; Great-grand children: Quadarian, Kourtney, William, Jr., Que, Caleb, Jaylen, Kendall, Jacoby, Nathan, RaJares, Jr., Noah, Kennedy, Dylan, Brayden, Karrington, Kelsey, Jayden, Cedric, Jr, Caylah,Glenn, Ishmiel, and Cierrah; special friends: Dorothy Gilbert, Maggie Washington, and Martha Green; special daughters: Gerald Stevenson, Brenda Goines, and Tonja McKelvey; special families: the Brown, the Jackson, and the Gilberts, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins , and friends.
