Lorenza Richard “Lo” Eason, Sr. was born April 20, 1944, to the late Willie and Idella Eason in Bessemer, Alabama.
Lorenza had a true love for God. He confessed Christ on June 8, 1973, was baptized and joined Second Avenue Beulah Baptist Church. In April of this year, he received his plaque for 50 years of membership and service.
He was a 1962 graduate of James H. Abrams High School where he was known for his dynamic skills in football. After graduation he entered the workforce and retired from Jim Walter Mine. Mr. Eason had the personality and spirit that exuded love, kindness, and laughter. He was always ready and willing to give you kind words of wisdom. No matter how he felt, he always greeted you with a smile. A gentle giant whose laughter could fill a room. Mr. Eason was a loving husband, father, grandfather and uncle. He had a genuine love for family. Mr. Eason departed this life on June 16, 2023. He was predeceased by the love of his life, his wife Rosie Mae Eason; his siblings, Willie Pearl Eason, Roosevelt Eason, Dorothy Eason and Idella Rodgers. His many hobbies included but not limited to spending time with his family. He also enjoyed bowling, skating, hunting and watching westerns.
He leaves to cherish his memory, three sons, Lorenza R. Eason, Jr., Olandus D. (Tyee) Eason, Leonardus S. (Rodnica) Eason; three daughters, Nina C. Fauntleroy, LoElesia M. Arcangel Reid and Tricelia (Michael) Riles; brother, William (Josie)
Eason; two sisters, Olivia Williams and Sandra McAlpine; a very compassionate niece, Barbara (Joe) Houston; sister-in-law,
Mary Polnett; brothers-in-law, John Rufus (Barbara) Jenkins and Frank Smith, Sr.; a host of other relatives and friends.
