Limmie Lewis

Brother Limmie Lewis was born on January 6, 1955 to Limmie, Sr and Dorothy Lewis, both of whom preceded him in death. He was the first born of nine children. Limmie was educated in the Bessemer, AL school system and furthered his education at Northwestern Michigan College while enlisted in the United States Coast Guard, where he served loyally for 12 years. Afterwards, Limmie was employed for 27 years with the United States Postal Service before retiring from there in February 2012. On December 3, 1973, Limmie married the love of his life, Jennifer P Brown, and remained united in holy matrimony for 39 years. Brother Limmie joined Faith Chapel Christian Center under the leadership of Pastor Michael D Moore and worked faithfully in the Tape Ministry until his transition to his heavenly home on August 1, 2013. He was preceded in death by one brother, Connie O'Neal Lewis and one sister Benita F Lewis. Limmie leaves to cherish his many fond memories a truly beloved and devoted wife, Jennifer, three loving children, Vonetta (Jason) Roper of Birmingham, AL, Chastity Lewis of Washington, DC, and Jonathan Lewis of Helena, AL, six brothers and sisters, James ( Cecelia ) Lewis of Tuscaloosa, AL, Louise Caldwell, Rosemary Lark, Cedric Lewis, all of Bessemer, AL, Sidney Lewis of Los Angeles, CA, and Janice (Caesar) Fail of Birmingham, AL, four grandchildren, Keirra, Cameron, Jason, Jr, and Jahkese all of Ensley, AL and Amiyah of Birmingham, AL, three great-grandchildren, Xavier, Zaden, and Kaden all of Ensley, AL, five uncles, Eugene Lewis of Bessemer, AL, Connie, Willie Lee, Caesar Earl (Brenda), and Roy (Nora) Lewis all of Demopolis, AL, four aunts, Louise Maiden of Huntsville, AL, Mary (Willie) Anderson of Mobile, AL, Lolitha Rowser, and Odessa (John) Head both of Demopolis, AL, five sisters-in-law, Rena Westfield of Homewood, AL, Beverly (James) Logan of Hueytown, AL, Brenda Johnson of Birmingham, AL, Daphne (Arnold) Gray of Gallant, AL, and Faith (Alvin) Bruno of Birmingham, AL, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. .
