Lillie Cross

God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes, and their shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain. Rev21:4 Lillie Mae Cross was born July 5, 1923 in the city of Myrtle Wood Alabama to Mr. Polish Thomas and Josephine Jenkins Thomas. She was one of five to be born of this union. She was preceded in death by an older brother Otis Thomas and two sisters Betty Davis and Roberta Witherspoon. Rev. John Thomas (Kaye) Resides in California. Mrs. Cross received her early education at Rising Star public school in Myrtle Wood and graduated from Dunbar High School. She went o to receive a license in cosmetology. Mrs. Cross accepted Christ in her life at an early age and joined Macedonia Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. October 16, 1954 she married William Cross, who preceded her in death on October 31, 2000. Lillie Mae Cross has spent the last 10 years of her life residing in Clarksville TN, with her niece Leola Easley. As we all know Mrs. Cross was an extremely loving and giving person. She possessed many talents and lived life to the fullest. She was blessed to have a beautiful voice in which she shared with her church home, Macedonia Baptist Church. On Sunday March 21, 2010 Mrs. Cross found peace and went home to glory while doing what she enjoyed most listening to gospel music. Many look upon death as a sad occasion, but the death of a Christian is a glorious time for our Lord and Savior. Mrs. Cross leaves to cherish her memory, her brother Rev. John Thomas (Kaye), niece Leola Easley (Rev. Bennie Easley), Ms. Sallie Gibson goddaughter, Ms. Anne Bell (care giver) and a host of nieces and nephews and friends.
