Obituary Mr. Levi Thomas was born March 26, 1950 in Bessemer, Alabama to the late Mrs. Hattie Thomas and Mr. Albert Thomas, Jr. Levi was a lifelong member of 5th Avenue Bethel Baptist Church and enjoyed attending worship service. The Almighty God has allowed us to assemble today to celebrate and remember the life of our beloved family member and friend, Levi, a man who never saw a meal that he did not like no matter how many plates were set before him each day. He ate as though it was his “last supper.” He truly enjoyed food, walking the streets of the community and interacting with neighbors. When Levi’s ability to get around became compromised, he used his wheelchair to go from his bedroom to the front porch all day long; he didn’t sit still long before he was back inside. His familiar presence on the front porch and community will surely be missed. As he resides in Glory, we can imagine that he is sitting around the dinner table in Heaven celebrating the Great Feast with Jesus. Family members who will cherish his memories are: sisters, Mildred and Mary (Ron); brother, Lindrick; aunts, Stella, Dorothy Lucille and Dorothy Mae; nieces, Nakia, Katlin, Coreye’ and Zaria; nephews, Corey and Devin; personal caregiver, Niecy; chef, Eddie “Popeye” Nash and other family members and friends. May his soul rest in peace!
