Leo Cain

Obituary Leo Cain, Sr. was born June 14, 1929 to the late Riley and Maria Cain in Demopolis, Alabama. Leo left Demopolis at the age of 14 and relocated to Birmingham, where he met and married Mildred Jackson. To this union eight children were born. Leo later married Odessa Holt and to this union one daughter was born. Leo was a loving and devoted Christian; he served as a deacon at Bethel Baptist Church, Dolomite. Being a dedicated a hard worker, Leo worked at U.S. Steel in Fairfield, Alabama and later retired from the company. Being a steward in the Dolomite community, Leo worked with Meals on Wheels for ten years. He was a pillar in the community and a father figure to many. Leo departed this life surrounded by his children and grandchildren on Sunday, August 13, 2017. He was preceded in death by: wife, Katherine Cain; daughter, Mary Tolbert Hill; granddaughter, Tracy Williams, two sisters and three brothers. Left to cherish his wonderful memories and undeniable spirit: children, Pamela (Louis) Sims, Regina (Don) Douglas, Rhonda McLin, Lenora Gail Williams, Cheryl Harrell, Leanetta Wright, Leo Cain, Jr., Raynard (Onida) Cain, Alleris (Sabrina) Holt, Alfonzo (Odette) Holt and Alscca (Ronan) King; twenty-three grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; fifteen great-great grandchildren; mothers of his children, Mildred J. Cain and Odessa Cain; devoted companion, Tamera Hill and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
