Sister Lena Mae Allen Pruitt was born to the late Mr. Charlie and the late Lula Mae Allen in Clarke
County. She confessed faith in Christ at an early age and joined Midway Baptist Church in Dickinson, AL.
She later moved to Bessemer, AL and joined St. Peter Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of
the Late Rev. W. A. Clark. She remained a member under the Late Elder Solomon Oliver, Sr. She was still
a member under Elder Calvin Large.
She met and married the Late Brother Chester Pruitt, Sr. May 1, 1946. To this union 13 children were
born.
She was preceded in death by: one son, Brother Dexter “Plute” Pruitt; two sisters, Nethe Lou and Nell
Ree Allen; six brothers, Charlie, Lee, Roy, Tommie D, John and S. T.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories eight sons: Chester Pruitt, Jr., Lipscomb, AL, Gary Pruitt,
Bessemer, AL, Lynn Pruitt, Bessemer, AL, Glenn Pruitt, Bessemer, AL, Timothy Pruitt, Bessemer, AL, Daryl
(Teresa) Pruitt, Bessemer, AL, Renard (Dorothy) Pruitt, Birmingham, AL, Kendrick (Andrea) Pruitt,
Midfield, Al. Four daughters: Barbara P. Wallace, Bessemer, AL, Patricia Pruitt, Bessemer, AL, Vanessa
Tabb Conley, Bessemer, AL, Cheryl (Anthony) Cunningham, Birmingham, AL. Sister-in-Law: Mrs. Mamie
Pearl Wells, New York, 46 Grandchildren, 58 Great- grandchildren and 12 Great-great Grandchildren.
