Kevin Dudley

Known for his beautiful smile and the love he shared, Kevin Duane Dudley was born on September 6, 1968 to James O. and Marian Hicks Dudley in Ensley, Alabama. Kevin was a product of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School and graduated from John Carroll High School in the class of 1986. He served in the United States Army serving in the Gulf War before returning home. Kevin confessed Christ at an early age and remained a faithful servant by being ordained and licensed as a minister of the gospel under Reverend Edward Rodgers. He served as an associate minister of Hopewell Baptist Church, Hillman Station; First Baptist Church, Cordova and most recently at First Baptist Church, Hueytown under the pastorage of Reverend C. W. Thompson. Kevin married Katrina Harris on October 1, 1994; they were blessed with one daughter, Kera Rychelle. Kevin was gifted with many talents, he was especially known for his interpretation of the Word and his barbering skills. He was a member of James Chase Masonic Lodge #81. Kevin was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Curtis and Esther Hicks, owners of Hicks Funeral Home in Hope, AR.; paternal grandparents, Iverson and Annie Bell Dudley of Bessemer; one uncle, Clifford L. Dudley, Sr., Pompano Beach , FL; two aunts, Jacqueline I. Dudley of Bessemer, and Louise W. Dudley of Orlando, FL. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at 11:00 AM at First Baptist Church of Pleasant Grove, 724 4th Street with interment in Forest Grove Memorial Gardens.
