Keontay Rashad “Tay” Sumpter was born July 23, 2001, with identical twin brother, Keontez, and welcomed by his mother, Donna Thompson and father, Carlos Sumpter.
At an early age, Keontay accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior. Tay graduated from Bessemer City High School in May 2019. He was pursuing his Business Management with a Concentration in International Business Degree at
Alabama A&M University. He was an enterprising and entrepreneurial young man who created his own sportswear brand, Never Slippin’ with his twin brother, Keontez.
Keontay was inseparable from his twin brother. Even though he was not the eldest child, he was the “right hand” for many of his siblings and friends.
Keontay’s journey here on earth ended on Saturday, July 8, 2023. He was preceded in death by Irene Thompson, his great grandmother; Daniel Thompson, his great grandfather, D.C. Banks, his great grandfather and Luther Hicks, his great grandfather; Martha Banks, his great grandmother and Annie Jenkins, his great grandmother; aunt,
Yolanda Walker.
