Joseph Owens, Jr.

Joseph Henry Owens Jr. a resident of Helena, Alabama, transitioned to his Heavenly home
on Tuesday, November 24, 2020. Joseph Henry Owens, Jr. was born the second child of six
to the union of Joseph Henry Owens, Sr. and Julia Fields Owens on March 6, 1949 in
Birmingham, Alabama. Joseph leaves to cherish his memory his wife, Abrigail Rudolph
Owens; three sons, Pastor Joseph H. Owens, III (Veronica) of Bessemer, Alabama,
Anthony DeWayne Owens and David Lamar Owens, Bessemer, Alabama and their loving mother, Sarah Royal Owens; five siblings, Dannie Worthy and Naomi Owens of Trussville, Alabama, Thelma Owens Nunn (Leverd) of
Bessemer, Alabama, Timothy Owens (Michelle), of Pelham, Alabama and Thomas Owens of
Atlanta, Georgia; proud grandfather of five grandchildren, and a host of nieces,
nephews, other relatives and friends. Joseph was a faithful member of Macedonia Baptist
Church Bessemer, Alabama. Joseph retired from AT&T with over 30 years of dedicated
service. A public viewing will be held on Friday, December 4, 2020 between the hours of
5:00 pm-8:00 pm. A Public Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2020
at 11:00 a.m. Located at the Macedonia Baptist Abundant Life Center, 1401-26th Street,
Bessemer, Alabama 35020. Interment will follow at Highland Memorial Gardens 3115-18th
Ave North, Bessemer, Alabama 35020. The family is asking everyone who attends the
service to please be mindful of current COVID-19 restrictions.
