James William “Butch” Jackson, Jr. was born on January 28, 1956 to Melonee Minter and James William Jackson, Sr. At an early age he accepted Christ and united with Macedonia Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama under the leadership of Reverend B.B. Strowder. Later in years he united with St. Peter Primitive Baptist Church in Bessemer Alabama under the leadership of Solomon Oliver. He was a graduate of Brighton High School. James was truly loved. He was preceded in death by: father, James William Jackson, Sr.; devoted step-father, James R. Minter; grandparents, Mattie and Robert Watts; grandmother, Scottie Boyd and brother, Michael Henderson. He leaves to cherish his memories: a devoted and loving wife, Annette Jackson; loving mother, Melonee Minter; loving children, James D. Jackson, Robert M. (Charlina) Jackson, Melanee T. (Justin) Stanford, Charles Wallace and Ranetta Johnson; loving brother, John E. Jackson; loving sisters, Brenda Saahir, Sharon Jeff, and Barbara Wilson; grandchildren, Erin Jackson, Desiree Jackson, Ian Jackson, Kamry Jackson, Devita Jackson, Tanya Tatum, Makeya Jackson, Amya Jackson and Carnetta Johnson; great-grand children, Caden Rodgers, Rayterrius Johnson, King Hill, and Christian Rodgers.
