James Felix Belcher, Jr. known to all as Felix, was born February 7, 1961, to James Felix Belcher, Sr. and Sarah Wallace Belcher in Bessemer, Alabama. He was the middle child of three children.
On Friday, February 21, 2025, the angels stopped in Bessemer, Alabama and Felix received eternal rest as he passed peacefully in his sleep at his home.
He was baptized and confirmed at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. Felix had loving godparents, George (predeceased) and Eleanor Bell who were inspirational in his faith journey.
Felix received his elementary education from St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School. He attended John Carroll High School and was a 1980 graduate of J.S. Abrams High School. After high school, Felix attended Lawson State Community College where he received his Associate Degree in Cosmetology.
James was married to Darlene Kelly and to this union one daughter was born, Dariah Aliyah Belcher. James later married Tomeka Price and to this union one son was born, James Felix Belcher, III. Felix and his special friend, Erin Ford, share a daughter, Samiah Marie Belcher.
There is a family in heaven waiting to receive Felix. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Nathan and Renola Wallace, James and Annie Belcher; brother, Carlos Ray Belcher; uncles, Nathaniel Wallace and Jimmy Ray McGowan; aunts, Lois Belcher Jones and Doris Belcher Adams.
A lifetime of love and precious memories is shared by his parents, James and Sarah Belcher; children, Desmond McClinton, Kaishon Moore, Dariah Belcher, James Felix "Luh man" Belcher III, Samiah Marie Belcher, PO1 James Belcherand Symone Reed; sister, Angela M. (Kelvin) Wilson; aunts, Mamie Grant of Altadena, CA; Barbara Wallace of Lipscomb, AL; uncles, Ludye N. Wallace of Nashville, TN and Emmitt (Stella) McGowan of Redford, MI. Felix was blessed with 10 beautiful grandchildren who he loved. Devoted and caring friends; Stanley "Bo" Sanders, Howard "JJ" Jones and a host of nephews, and many, many friends.
