Jacqueline Parson

Sister Jacqueline “Jackie” Parson, daughter of the late Johnny Davis and Ruthie Davis Clark was born September 16, 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama. She attended the public schools of Bessemer City and was a graduate of J.S. Abrams High School. At an early age she confessed her faith to the Lord Jesus Christ and joined New Hope Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama. There she was a devoted member under the leadership of the late Reverend McKinley Clark. After marriage, she united with Bethel Baptist Church under the pastorship of the late Reverend E.L. Nevett. She served in several auxiliaries: deacon’s wife, choir member, hospitality and culinary committees. Later, Jackie reunited with her childhood church (New Hope) under the guidance of Pastor Jesse McAlpine and continued to serve the Lord faithfully on the pastor’s aid board. She loved her pastor, family, friends and church family.
Jackie was united in holy matrimony to Charles E. Parson. This union was blessed with two children. She was a beloved wife, mother, godmother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and good friend. Jackie was a very good cook and an excellent host to her friends and family. Her kindness and hospitality will be forever remembered.
Her beautiful life will forever be cherished by her two children, Min. Christopher (Sonja) Parson, Hueytown, Alabama and Felicia (Charles) Jones of Bessemer, Alabama. Six grandsons, Christopher Jr, Charles Deron (a.k.a. her baby) Parson, Seattle Washington, Michael, Dre, Jonathan, and Jordan all of Birmingham, Alabama.
