Life Reflections Iola James Barnes was born in Columbus, Mississippi to the late James C. Hill and Essie Richards of February 3, 1933. She accepted Christ at an early age and united with First Baptist Church Woodward, Woodward Alabama. A lifelong member of First Baptist Woodward where she served many years as Secretary of the Senior and Mass Choir, Superintendent of the Sunday School and an active church member until the Lord called her home. She was united in Holy Matrimony to Mr. Carl Earl E. Barnes, Sr. of Woodward, Alabama on August 19, 1949. To this union six children were born, one of which preceded her in death on September 30, 2012. She leaves to cherish her memories; loving husband of sixty eight years, Carl Earl Barnes, Sr.; six children, Carlene (Adolphus) Moody, Victoria (Michael) Pollard, Sr. , Shirley J. Barnes, Carl Earl Barnes, Jr., Cassandra M. Barnes; eleven grandchildren, Angela (Levon) Whitt, Stephanie Burris, Marcus (Onesha) Moody, Michael (Ebony) Pollard, Stephen Moody, Yvonne Pollard, Aisha Hayes, Maurice (Aleshsa) Barnes, Brandon Barnes, Charles Barnes, Justice, Journey and Julian Washington; twenty-two great grandchildren; brother, James C. (Carrie) Hill, Jr.; sister, Gabrielle (Michael) Buchanan; sister-in-law, Dorothy Harris; a brother-in-law, Willie Lee Barnes; goddaughter, JoAnn H. Gray; two special cousins, Lillie B. Hughes, Lucille Hughes and a host of relatives and friends.
