Harold Gene Peterson, affectionately called "Skippy" was born on December 2, 1951 in Bessemer, Alabama, to the late Richard and Elizabeth Peterson. Peacefully he entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Harold was a proud graduate of Brighton High School. Harold dedicated 30 years of his career at US Steel before retiring in 2004. His life was enriched by simple pleasures; fishing, watching football and baseball on TV, and attending his grandson's baseball games. These moments brought immense joy to Harold and created lasting memories for his family.
In 1972 he was married to Johnnie Washington and together 3 children were born.
Harold would often frequent such places as Jack's, Publix and Walmart to name a few where he would pick up the items that he needed for himself as well as for others. He was a kind and generous individual who was loved by all who knew him.
Harold is reunited in death with his Father; Richard Peterson; Mother: Elizabeth Peterson and his Sisters: Annette Hill, Wanda Ward and Carolyn Kelly.
Left to cherish his memory are his Children: Ikeda (Eric) DeLoach, Christopher Peterson (Jessica Lloyd), and Angela Peterson all of Bessemer, AL; Grandchildren: Brianna Henderson, Aaden DeLoach, Carson Peterson and Jaliyah Peterson; Bonus Grandchildren: DeAngela Jackson and Jesaiah Lloyd; Brother: Richard Peterson of Bessemer, AL; Sisters: Delores Peterson, Marsha Acoff and Jeanette Peterson all of Bessemer, AL; Uncle and Aunt: Dan and Nonnie Carter of Columbus, OH and many Nieces, Nephews, Cousins and Friends who will deeply cherish his memory.
