Show yourself in all respects to be a model of good works, and in your teaching show integrity, dignity and sound speech that cannot be condemned Titus 2:7 On February 14, 2016 at approximately 7:48 pm George passed away peacefully at home in Bessemer, Alabama comforted by family members. George Smith Sr. was the fourth of thirteen (13) children born to the proud parents of Tom and Willie Smith on October 25, 1915, in Marion Junction Alabama. George a gentle and soft spoken man who accepted Christ at an early age. He was joined in holy matrimony to a loving and devoted wife Eloise G. Smith of Selma, Alabama. He was preceded in death by his wife Eloise Smith, sons: Christopher Smith, George Smith Jr., Ronald J. Smith, Nathan B. Smith and daughter Willie Ann Paries-Hill. Apart from his wife and family he had a love for building and a love for his country. He was Self-educated. At the age of twelve he built a barn, much to his parents surprise. In 1943 during World War II, his two loves came together; he had an opportunity to contribute to the war effort, as many others, building ships at the Alabama Dry-dock and Shipbuilding Company on Pinto Island in Mobile, Alabama. George subsequently worked on the Manhattan Project in Oak Ridge Tennessee. The experience he gained allowed him to realize a lifelong dream of forming his own company. Building, renovating homes and demolishing buildings. He is survived by six daughters: Virginia Dambreville (Jean Claude), Carolyn Smith, Mamye L. Smith (Bob), Lymbra Key (Cashuh), Verlyne Moten, and Steronica Mattock and a very special love one, Kathryn Engldahl. Three sons: Theophilus Smith, Quintos Dunston Sr. and William Hall. Fourteen affectionate and dear grandchildren: Mona Zinnerman (Derrick), Daisy Paries, Nancy-Paries-Holmes (Andre), Timotheus Paries, Felisha Gaffney (Terrell), Monica Townsend (Marc), Cyrena Chappman (Christopher), Crystal Key Dei (Emmanuel), Cashuh Key III, Safiya Smith, Malachi Mattock, Madison, Kindall and Quintos Dunston Jr. Four very special children Robert Hall, Hester Hall, Melvin Hall and Willie Dorsey. A host of dearly loved great and great-great grandchildren. Surviving sisters: Mary Alexander, Elizabeth Brent, and Henrietta Tripp. Brothers: Ollie Lee Smith and Roosevelt Smith.
