Fred Lee King, Sr. was born on July 22, 1926 in Birmingham, Alabama (Wylam Community) to the late Sam and Catherine King. He attended Dolomite/Westfield High School, and was a World War II Veteran Serving in the US Army and Air Force. Fred retired from Pullman Standard after 22 years of service. He pursued his passion and career in the audio visual industry, as a motion picture operator, a few years later he was promoted to motion picture technician, and retired after 41 years. During this time he was the owner of Avenue I Upholstery Shop in Ensley. Fred King was united in holy matrimony for 50 years to Jean King, and from this union three boys were born Joe King, Eric King and Cedric King. He confessed Christ at an early age, after moving back to Birmingham, Alabama he joined St. John Baptist Church. Later he became a member of New Direction Ministries Brighton, Alabama where he remained faithful serving as Deacon and Trustee. He departed this life on Friday, July 2, 2010.
