The Legacy of Mrs. Evette LeShun O'Neal Mrs. Evette LeShun O'Neal was born on May 24, 1974, to Ms. Tommie L. Ash and Mr. David L. Bell, at Mercy Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. As a child, she attended St. Francis of Assisi Catholic School in Bessemer, Al, and graduated from Holy Family Catholic High School in Birmingham, Al. After being a successful high school scholar and athlete, she completed her Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology in 1996 from Miles College, where she pledged the Gamma Pi Chapter of the Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. She went on to complete her Masters of Biology in Education in 2008 from the University of Phoenix. She enjoyed an eleven year career as a science instructor at Jess Lanier High School as well as Bessemer City High School. She was a beloved and caring daughter, wife, mother, sister, teacher, mentor, co-worker, and friend. She confessed Christ at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church in Bessemer, AL under the leadership of Reverend B.B. Strowder, and was a phenomenal, spirit-filled Christian woman. In 1993 she joined the Mt. Canaan Full Gospel Church under the leadership of Drs. Willie B. & Patricia A. O'Neal. The earth lost one of its most precious pearls on January 25, 2011 but let us remember, heaven gained an angel. Her legacy will be cherished by her loving husband, Dedrick D. O'Neal, three sons: Isaiah D. Tinker, Dadrien D. O'Neal and Evann B. O'Neal, one daughter: Raelun B. O'Neal, mother: Ms. Tommie Ash, dad: David L. (Barbara) Bell, father-in-law: Willie B. O'Neal, mother-in-law Patricia A. O'Neal, sisters: Jacqueline (Stephney) Tucker of Norton, MA, Kendi Bell of Bessemer, Al, brother: Justin J. Ash, and an extended family of sisters, brothers, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
