Evelyn Deloise Rollins, the daughter of the deceased Samuel Hill and Alice Freeman Taylor, was born July 2, 1938 in McCalla, Alabama. Evelyn attended McCalla Elementary School and Pipeshop where she received honors in her class. She accepted Christ and was later baptized at an early age and was a member of McCalla Chapel A.M.E. Zion Church. Evelyn later married Freddie Rollins of Roosevelt City, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her granddaughter, Monique Collins. Evelyn worked several years at Bessemer Carraway Hospital and retired from the Bessemer Health Department after ten years of successful service. Evelyn leaves behind to cherish her memories of her life: three children, Carroll Wilkerson, Billie Price and Valerie (Manuel) Abdullah; eight grandchildren, Joseph Price, Sidney Cheatam, Tovarris Cheatam, Kiana Cheatam, Shemeki Cheatam, Calvin Wilkerson, Dana Wilkerson and Ceandra Hill; six great grandchildren; five sisters, Rosie (Moses) Hearn, Shirley (Roosevelt) Wallace, Mamie (Eugene) Wilson, Judith Story and Brenda Gates; three brothers, Samuel (Sarah) Taylor, Sr., Andy (Dollie) Taylor, Bobby (Devetta) Taylor; a special niece, Dr. Gale D. Satchel (Gale baby) and a host of family and friends.
