Eva D. Jackson was born on December 25, 1930, in Uniontown, Alabama to the late Glen and Augusta Christian. She was the 5th of six children born to this union and was preceded in death by her sisters: Lillie Ree Swain and Shiner Mae Waddy; and her, brothers: Glen Christian, Jesse Christian and Samuel Lee Christian.
Eva graduated from high school in Perry County and went on to be united in holy matrimony to the late James Jackson. To this union seven children were born. She was preceded in death by her husband of over 45 years, James Jackson.
Eva confessed Christ at an early age and after moving to Bessemer, Alabama, she joined 5th Avenue Bethel Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend E.L. Nevett, where she attended until her health declined. She was employed at Unitog in Birmingham, Alabama for several years.
A committed and compassionate mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Eva enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They were the highlight of her life! Sadly she was preceded in death by her grandson, Corey Densmore.
Eva D. Jackson transitioned peacefully on July 17, 2022. She leaves to cherish her loving memories: seven children: Arthur (Alice) Jackson of Augusta, Georgia, Samuel L. (Cathy) Jackson of Pleasant Grove, Alabama, Jacqueline McClain of Bessemer, Alabama, Willie E. Jackson of Bessemer, Alabama, Jerome Jackson of Birmingham, Alabama, Yvonne McIntosh of Bessemer, Alabama and Janice (Seth) Gordon of McCalla, Alabama; 16 grandchildren: 15 great-grandchildren; a special friend, Roselle Bennett and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
