Obituary Eula Mae Harris was born in Litohatchee Alabama, on January 5, 1917 in Lowndes County to the late James Richmond and Annie Jackson. Despite being a year old, the U.S. Census Bureau did not begin recording her earthly existence until 1918. She confessed Christ at an early age and joined the New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Pastor Foster. In 1939, she was married to the late Ben Harris. To this union 5 daughters were born. Three of her beautiful daughters preceded her in death; Elnora Harris, Estella Harris and Thelma Harris Clemons. This left two beautiful and cherished daughters Walter Mae Edwards and Evelyn Hunter. She also lovingly raised her cherished son and daughter, Christopher and Demetrius Patterson of whom she assumed care after the passing of her daughter, the lovely Elnora Harris. As a vibrant and active member of the church she wore a number of hats. Eula’s life of faith exemplified walking in the Spirit, humility, joy, perseverance, patience, honor, loyalty, forgiveness, strength, diligence, and above all things… Love . Her light will never diminish because the Word of God was the lamp unto her feet and the light unto her path. Eula Mae’s race to win the prize ended peacefully on May 22, 2016 while at home with her lovingly diligent daughter and caretaker, Walter Mae Edwards. Memories of Eula will be cherished by: children, Walter Mae Edwards, Evelyn Hunter, Christopher Harris and Demetrius Patterson; 7 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and loving family friends.
