Enoch Brown Jr. was born March 3, 1949 in Bessemer, Alabama the oldest child of Enoch Brown Sr. and Fannie Mae Brown. Enoch confessed Christ at an early age and joined the New Zion Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, trustee, Sunday school teacher and sang in the choir. He was a faithful servant until God called him home. Enoch Brown was educated in the Bessemer School System and graduated from J.S. Abrams High School in 1967. He married his high school sweetheart Genetta Moseley and this union was blessed with four sons. In 1999, the Concerned Citizens of Bessemer and the Bessemer Police and Fire Departments recognized Enoch Brown for his revitalization of a local park. That park was renamed The Enoch Brown Park in his honor. He was preceded in death by: brother, Curly Brown and his parents Enoch Brown Sr. and Fannie Mae Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory a loving wife, Genetta Brown; four sons, Marcus (Atonya) Brown of Center Point, AL, Jason (Wecheeta) Brown of McCalla, AL, Jamal (Shundreka) Brown of Hueytown, AL and Brandon Brown of Bessemer, AL; four granddaughters, Kendra, Breonna, Jamya and Jayla; grandson, Khiree; four brothers, Roy (Doris) Brown of Fairfield, AL, Jimmy Brown of Bessemer, AL, Christopher Brown of Bessemer, AL and Michael (Laverne) Brown of Roebuck, AL; two sisters, Sonja Faye Phillips of Bessemer and Paulette Brown of Dolomite, AL; and a host of nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
