Emma Jean Bryant, affectionately known as “Skacie,” was born on June 9, 1944, to Isaac and Annie Laura Bryant.
Emma is preceded in death by her parents, Isaac Bryant and Annie Laura Bryant, her sister, Juanita Bryant Purdue, brothers, Theordore Bryant, William Bryant, Arthur Bryant, , and Lawrence Bryant, and nephews, Vincent Bryant, and Gregory (Amy) Bryant. Emma confessed Christ at an early age where she was a member of Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend R. L. Starkey.. She later joined the New Antioch Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Tony Ware until her death.
After graduating from Brighton High School in 1963, Emma worked at Fairview Nursing Home in Fairfield, Alabama for many years until her retirement. We honor Emma's faith and kindness , her readings and deep affection for others showed her unshakeable dedication to God. The many images she left in treasured albums reflect how she made everyone, especially children, whether by blood or by heart, feel valued and cherished. Emma never knew a stranger; her heart was kind and compassionate. Her motto, "We're supposed to love one another and treat each other right," guided her life. The legacy of her faith and love is a daily reminder to live life with grace and perseverance.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory: Brother, Arthur Bryant, Jr.; Aunt, Mildred Allison; Sister-in-laws, Sister-in-laws, Dorothy (William) Little and Elvira (Lawrence) Bryant; Cousin, Lois Mixon; twelve nieces and nephew, and a host of cousins, great and great- grand nieces and nephews and friends.
