Eloise Bell was born on August 24, 1949 in Fairfield, Alabama. She was the fifth child of six children born to the late Reuben and Velma Bell, Sr. of Bessemer, Alabama.
Eloise Bell departed this life Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at Brookwood (Princeton) Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.
Eloise confessed Christ at an early age and was a faithful member of the 5th Avenue Bethel Baptist Church in Bessemer, Alabama under the leadership of Calvin L. Bell, Sr. Eloise was educated in the Bessemer School System and graduated from J. S. Abrams High School, class of 1967. She attended Miles College and earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. In 2014, Eloise retired from Hillcrest Behavioral Center after teaching for 18 years.
Family was very important to Eloise. She dedicated her life caring and nurturing her loved ones. Her nieces and nephews especially adored her. She was always available and ready to provide her wisdom and insight to them when needed.
Eloise was also an avid gardener. She spent countless hours tending to her yard and planting seasonal flowers. Other loved ones who predeceased her include brother, Sandy Bell.
Eloise leaves to cherish her memories a loving and devoting daughter, Beadie Bell of Bessemer, Alabama; sisters, Velma Bell of McCalla, Alabama and Minerva Norris of Bessemer, Alabama; brothers, Reuben (Gwendolyn) Bell, Jr. of Birmingham, Alabama and Joseph (Evivian) Bell of Fairfield, Alabama; sister-in-law, Janet Bell of Livingston, Alabama; aunts, Mable English of Newport News, Virginia, Bernice High of Birmingham, Alabama, Leanna Jackson of Stone Mountain, Georgia, Maxine Bell of Bessemer, Alabama, Dorothy Bell of Livingston, Alabama, Thelma (Ed) Love of York, Alabama, and Brenda Kirkland of Huntsville, Alabama; uncle, Nelson Bell of Birmingham, Alabama; a very special 1st best friend, Ann (Midget) Dillworth of Guilderland, New York; classmates of J.S. Abrams, class of 1967; and a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.
