A Time to be Born: Brother Eddie Jackson, Jr. was born October 6, 1933. The fifth child to Eddie and Curry Jackson of Gainesville, Alabama. Eddie graduated high school in 1954 and shortly thereafter enlisted into the United States Army.
A Time to Love: Eddie was honorably discharged in 1956 and moved to Bessemer, Alabama. He met and married Mildred Morgan and to this union six children were born During their union they adopted one daughter and cared for two nieces.
A Time to Embrace: Eddie confessed Christ at an early age at New Bethel Baptist Church in Gainsville, Alabama. When he relocated to Bessemer, Alabama he joined Friendship Baptist Church, Brighton where he remained a faithful member until his death. Eddie was a loving husband, father, son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend.
A Time to Laugh: Brother Eddie was known for helping anyone who was in need. He never met a stranger and was known as the “Senior Uber” in town. There was a never a time where he was not acknowledged for his great personality, jokes and having fun with his family.
A Time to Live: Eddie was a highly active man. He was a member of the VFW and well-known mechanic. Working on cars was a deep passion of Eddie’s. He was known as the “Good Hearted Guy”, “Fast” and “Mr. Jack.” He always showed love and in return he was loved by many.
A Time to Die: Brother Eddie lost his battle on Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Brookwood Hospital. Eddie gained his wings to be with the Lord.
Left to cherish the precious memories and times are his children, Sharon Ray, Bessemer, AL, Audrey (Austin) Hill Buford, GA, Gary Jackson, Bessemer, AL, Furkita McCullough, Bessemer, AL, Larry (Meisha) Dew, Bessemer, AL Jayvanita Hill-Moore, Bonaire, GA, LaShonta Jackson, Hoover, AL, Evelyn (Charlie) Wren, Dolomite, AL and Veronica Rhodes, Adamsville, AL; 15 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother, Louis Jackson, Las Vegas, NV; sister-in-law, Gratis (George) Bryant, Inglewood, CA; brother-in-law, Ralph (Jackie) Saunders, Bessemer, AL; special friend, Yvonne Ward; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
