Deacon Eddie Harris, Jr. was born to Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Harris, Sr. in Orrville, Alabama. He confessed hope in Christ during the year 1940 and united with Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend B.B. Strowder.In 1963 he joined the #2 Usher Board. Being a faithful member, Deacon Harris served in many capacities at the church; Adult #1 Sunday School Class, Vice President of #2 Usher Ministry, member of #1 Usher Ministry, Banking Committee and Chairman of the Deacon Ministry.
Deacon Harris was united in Holy Matrimony in 1962 to Rosie Patton. He was educated in the Jefferson County School system. Being a dedicated and hard worker, he was employed and retired from ACIPCO after 57 years. Having a heart of service, he enlisted and served in the United States Army..
Left to cherish his loving memories: loving and devoted wife of 56 years, Rosie P. Harris; special niece/daughter, Johnnye P. Lassiter; sister-in-law, Catherine P. Amerson all of Bessemer, AL; brother-in-law, Rev. Clantford Drummonds (Louise), Lawton, OK; and a host of other relatives and friends.
